Bath re-enamelling in Monkroyd, done in place
Cast iron, steel, acrylic, roll-top and period baths can all be resurfaced. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. If you are dealing with brown or grey marks that don’t clean off and chips and rust in more than one place, we can usually put it right.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

How the visit works
Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you are not left guessing. Once we’re there, the work takes the best part of a day. We leave the room clean and you will know when it can be used.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
- Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.
Preparing for the visit
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
How to get a price

Landlord and trade work in Monkroyd
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
For anyone letting property in or around Monkroyd, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Just send photos for each address and we will price them together.
How we price bath re-enamelling
Resurfacing from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Monkroyd. The price reflects:
- How easy the damage is to reach
- Doing more than one item at once
- What kind of damage it is
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
How to get a fixed price
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- One picture of the entire bath
- Any details about the material
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.
Should you replace it?
There are times replacing is better: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you’re refitting the entire room anyway. Otherwise, resurfacing normally wins. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You will see the full price before booking, with no extras added later.
What you get with us

Aftercare tips
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
- Avoid suction-cup mats
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
Treat the new finish gently at first: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.
If a previous coating is starting to peel, do not pick at it. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so have it stripped and resurfaced.

Common problems we fix in Monkroyd
Frequently the bath has just had decades of use. Underneath, a cast iron or steel bath is normally as strong as ever.
Common reasons people in Monkroyd contact us include:
- A peeling or bubbling previous coating
- Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough
- Lots of chips and rust spots
- A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
What to look for in a quote
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
- How your room will be protected
Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
Common questions in Monkroyd
How do I book?
A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.
Do you hold any accreditations?
We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
Do I have to be there?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.
How do I get a price for bath re-enamelling in Monkroyd?
Prices start from £350. Because every job differs, we price from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.
Can you fix a peeling bath coating?
Yes. Removing the old finish takes extra time, which we include in the price.
Can you price it without visiting?
Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.
Will there be a smell?
A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.
