Trusted bath re-enamelling in Mosspark

Mosspark: your questions answered

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Can you make a coloured bath white?

Yes, white is the usual choice. Mention the colour you want when you send pictures.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

What happens after I send photos?

You will get a fixed quote back, plus dates. You are under no obligation.

Will the bath be moved?

No. We resurface it in place, so nothing else is disturbed.

Is there a smell?

Yes, while we are applying the finish. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. If pictures do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Bath re-enamelling in Mosspark without replacing anything

We resurface cast iron, steel and acrylic baths, including roll-tops and period baths. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, once the bath has been cleaned, repaired and prepared. We’re frequently asked to fix an outdated colour you’d like to change and a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean, across acrylic baths, Victorian roll-tops and pressed steel baths.

All our work comes with our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Glasgow.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: they’re heavy, frequently need breaking up, and a new one is not cheap. Resurfacing in place avoids that entirely. Prices start from £350. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before you book.

Why Mosspark clients choose us

  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Everything repaired in place
  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide

What we cannot put right

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
  • A bath split right through the body
  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

What we work on

  • Acrylic baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Victorian roll-tops

When to call us in Mosspark

Enamel wears gradually. Years of cleaning, hard water and hot baths wear the gloss away, typically first under the taps and around the waste.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
  • A bath in a colour that no longer suits
  • Several chips and rust patches
  • A period or roll-top bath worth keeping

What to look for in a quote

  • How your room will be protected
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • What happens if they find more damage
  • Who will actually do the work

How to compare quotes

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The material

Compared with replacing, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Send pictures for a quote

You can typically get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Any details about the material
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A picture taken from further back

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. There is no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

The process

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. It generally takes most of the day, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. Primer and finish coats are applied.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

Before we arrive

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

Advice

What your bath is made of matters

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
