How bath repair works in G53
A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and the bath is back in use the following day. You will not need a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. We are frequently asked to fix rust spots around the plughole and snagging damage from a refit, on roll-top & freestanding, cast iron enamel and whirlpool & spa baths.
There’s not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will get on with it. The job generally runs to a few hours.
- First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
- We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
- We leave it to cure; you can generally use the bath the following day.

Around Pollok
Locally, our jobs take us to homes close to Glasgow, St. Paul's High School and Pollok Country Park and the streets around them. The closest station to Pollok is Priesthill & Darnley station, roughly 0.9 miles south-east. Other landmarks nearby include Leverndale Hospital (0.9 miles north-west) and Hawkhead Castle (1.3 miles north-west).
Work for landlords and builders
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Glasgow and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.
What a repair can’t fix
A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
- A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
- Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
How to care for the repair
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Do not leave a fresh chip for long
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
- Store metal items away from the bath
- Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before running a bath. After that, gentle cleaning keeps it looking good.
Don’t leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.
What bath repair costs
Prices start from £95. Prices are worked out job by job, from your pictures. What matters most is:
- Access to the area
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- How much damage there is
Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for G53. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
Getting a price from photos
Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:
- The material, if you know it
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- One picture of the entire bath
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
For a price in G53, photos are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.
What we are called out for in G53
Heavy toiletries are the biggest single cause of chips. Fittings cause damage too: water collects there, so chips nearby rust quickly.
Look out for any of the following:
- A chipped rim or side
- Rust by the waste and overflow
- A hole punched through by something heavy
- Chips caused by builders
