Trusted bath re-enamelling in Parkgrove

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Parkgrove

When a bath is structurally fine but worn out on the surface, resurfacing is normally the best value. There is no removal, plumbing or tiling involved. Common call-outs are for thin, worn enamel in places and staining under the taps and around the waste, on acrylic baths, Victorian roll-tops and cast iron baths.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

Different materials, different repairs

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

How the visit works

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take a full day, tidy-up included.

  1. The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
  3. The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
  4. We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
  5. The bath is left to cure and can typically be used the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

How to get a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Advice

Keeping it looking good

To keep it looking its best for years:

  • Do not leave a chip unrepaired
  • Fix dripping taps quickly
  • Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
  • Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured

Treat the new finish gently at first: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.

Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and rust spots spread under the surface. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.

What affects the price in Parkgrove

Resurfacing from £350. There is no charge for travel to Parkgrove. The price comes down to:

  • How much damage there is
  • The material
  • The type of damage
  • How hard the colour is to match

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Quotes from your photos

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

FAQs for Parkgrove

Do you charge for travel?

We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Does re-enamelling smell?

Yes, while we’re applying the finish. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Is my repair covered?

Yes, for a year. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

What happens after I send pictures?

We look at the pictures and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

Repair or replace in Parkgrove?

If you like your bathroom but not your bath’s surface, re-enamelling is the least disruptive fix. Tiles, panels and taps stay put. Prices start from £350. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it.
