Repairing versus replacing in Piccadilly

A replacement frequently means several trades over several days. Re-enamelling is one technician, typically one day, and the bath is usable the day after. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You will see the full price before you book, with nothing added on the day.

What you get with us

  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do

About our bath re-enamelling in Piccadilly

Cast iron and steel baths are ideal for re-enamelling, and we can resurface acrylic baths as well. You end up with a smooth, glossy surface. Our repair technicians work on acrylic baths, pressed steel baths and basins & shower trays, and the jobs we see most are wear marks under the taps and a roll-top that’s seen better days.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

What we are called out for in Piccadilly

Older baths frequently have several problems at once: dull areas, chips, rust and staining. Resurfacing sorts them out together.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
  • An outdated colour you’d like to change
  • Chips and rust in more than one place
  • A dull, rough surface that will not come clean

How to compare quotes

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. You won’t pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The material and finish

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Piccadilly. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Quotes from your pictures

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Any details about the material

Send us photos of the damage and one of the whole item, with your B78 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Piccadilly: your questions answered

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Do you cover Piccadilly?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Piccadilly and the rest of Staffordshire. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

How do I get a price for bath re-enamelling in Piccadilly?

Prices start from £350. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Will you leave a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, we often do. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

What your bath is made of matters

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

How the visit works

Your technician turns up when we said we would and checks the damage against your photos first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. Most visits take the best part of a day, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. Primer and finish coats are applied.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

Preparing for the visit

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated

Advice

DIY kit or professional repair?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

For landlords and businesses

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

What we cannot put right

In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
  • A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.
