How we handle bath re-enamelling in Provanhall

Many of the baths we re-enamel are period roll-tops, which are heavy, hard to move and costly to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. Whether it’s a coloured bath you want in white and thin, worn enamel in places, we can generally put it right, on pressed steel baths, acrylic baths and basins & shower trays alike.

Every repair is covered by our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Glasgow.

Honest limits

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:

  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
  • A bath split right through the body
  • A bath that’s rusted through

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Basins & shower trays

How to look after the repair

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
  • Repair dripping taps early
  • Keep suction mats out of the bath

Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, especially in hard water areas, so limescale cannot build up.

Leave a peeling coating alone. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so have it stripped and resurfaced.

For landlords and businesses

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

The process

When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. The job typically takes a full day. We clean up when we are done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. Primer and finish coats are applied.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

How we price bath re-enamelling

Prices start from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • How many areas need work
  • Access to the area
  • The material

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

Send photos for a quote

Phone pictures are fine, there’s no need for anything special. Make sure they show:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

If you are in Provanhall and want a price, pictures are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

Repairing versus replacing in Provanhall

A new bath means a plumber, removing a heavy bath, making good the walls and tiles and days without a bathroom. Resurfacing gives the bath a new finish without moving it. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Provanhall. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why book with us

When to call us in Provanhall

Older baths often have several problems at once: worn patches, chips, rust spots and stains. Resurfacing sorts them out together.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Chips and rust in more than one place
  • A bath in a colour that no longer suits
  • Thin, worn enamel in places
  • A coating lifting around the plughole
