Ringstead questions
I rent my home. Can I book you?
We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.
Will there be a smell?
There can be some smell while we work. It fades as everything cures.
What information do you need?
Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.
What happens after I send pictures?
You’ll get a fixed quote back, plus dates. There is no obligation to book.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We will tell you when the room can be used again.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Of course, and it normally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.
How much does bath re-enamelling cost in Ringstead?
Resurfacing from £350. Every job gets a fixed price based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up and a photo of the whole item with your DT2 postcode.
Can you re-enamel a roll-top bath?
Yes. We can do the inside and outside if you’d like.
Repair or replace: which is better?
For a sound bath, resurfacing costs far less than replacement, once you add removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating to the price of a new bath. It’s also far quicker. Prices start from £350. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

What happens on the day
Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so there are no surprises. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and the work begins. Allow a full day, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.
- The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
- The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
- The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
- We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
- The bath is left to cure and can generally be used the next day.
Preparing for the visit
- Open a window if you can
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

DIY kit or professional repair?
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
When to call us in Ringstead
Enamel does not fail overnight. Abrasive cleaners, limescale and years of use wear the gloss away, starting where water runs and sits.
Get in touch if you’ve noticed any of these:
- Lots of chips and rust spots
- A bath in a colour that no longer suits
- Stains that will not shift
- A coating lifting around the plughole
What your quote should include
- A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
- What protection goes down before work starts
- How long the guarantee is and what it covers
- Whether the price covers travel
Repairs by material
Cast iron
Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.
Pressed steel
Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we check it carefully.

How to look after the repair
A little care keeps the finish looking good. Our advice:
- Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
- Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
- Never use suction bath mats
A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, particularly where water is hard, so limescale can’t build up.
Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It removes more of the surface.
What bath re-enamelling costs
Prices start from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Ringstead. What changes the price is:
- What kind of damage it is
- How hard the colour is to match
- The size and number of damaged areas
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You will see the full price before you book, with no extras added later.

Before you send pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:

- One picture of the entire bath
- Any details about the material
- Natural light rather than flash
