Bath re-enamelling in Rushmoor

How it works

Once we are through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes a full day, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. Primer and finish coats are applied.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

About our bath re-enamelling in Rushmoor

We re-enamel a lot of period and roll-top baths, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. Whether it’s stains that won’t shift and a coating lifting around the plughole, we can help, whatever the material.

Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. You will know the full cost before you book. We take into account:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The material and finish
  • How many areas need work

We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Rushmoor. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

How to get a fixed quote

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Any details about the material
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Details of any past repairs

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, add your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

Questions from Rushmoor

Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?

In most cases. We strip the failing coating and resurface it properly. Tell us about it when you ask for a quote.

What information do you need?

Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. If pictures do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

When can you do it?

We will give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

How do I get a price for bath re-enamelling in Rushmoor?

Resurfacing from £350. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Do you need to take the bath out?

No. It’s re-enamelled where it stands, so nothing else is disturbed.

Do you cover Rushmoor?

We do. We send a technician to Rushmoor for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Rushmoor

Hard water speeds up the wear, and gritty cleaners are the worst culprits.

Keep an eye out for any of the following:

  • Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough
  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
  • Stains that will not shift
  • Lots of chips and rust spots

What your quote should include

  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • How changes to the job are handled

How to compare quotes

What we cannot put right

We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
  • A bath that’s rusted through

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Materials we work on in Rushmoor

  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Cast iron baths

Work for landlords and builders

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Rushmoor use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it normally costs far less than a refit.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Should you replace it?

A new bath means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling or making good the walls and days without a bathroom. Re-enamelling gives the bath a new finish without moving it. Prices start from £350. Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Looking after it afterwards

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
  • Respect the curing time we give you
  • Store bottles off the bath
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs right away

Treat the new finish gently at first: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.

Leave a peeling coating alone. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, with a coating system suited to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported for the finish to last.

Pressed steel

Steel baths re-enamel well, once any rust has been treated. Steel often rusts by the plughole, so we pay close attention there.
