Need bath re-enamelling in Rushop?

Bath re-enamelling in Rushop, done in place

Re-enamelling works especially well on cast iron and steel, and acrylic baths can be resurfaced too. The result is a smooth, even, glossy finish. We’re frequently asked to fix wear marks under the taps and enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough, in basins & shower trays, acrylic baths and Victorian roll-tops.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will come back.

Honest limits

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • A metal bath with a through crack
  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
  • A bath that’s rusted through

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.

What happens on the day

Once we’re through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes most of the day, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure until the next day.

How to prepare

Advice

For landlords and businesses

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

When to call us in Rushop

Sometimes it’s an earlier resurfacing that has failed, peeling around the waste or bubbling. We strip what’s failing and start again.

Look out for any of the following:

  • Thin, worn enamel in places
  • A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
  • An old resurfacing that’s failing
  • An outdated colour you’d like to change

What your quote should include

  • Aftercare advice
  • How the colour is matched
  • What prep work is covered
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show

Our hiring checklist

Repairs by material

Acrylic

We resurface acrylic baths as well, using a system that bonds to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported for the finish to last.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Questions from Rushop

What happens after I send pictures?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Is there a guarantee?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

What does bath re-enamelling cost?

Prices start from £350. We give a fixed price based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

Will the new finish last?

A well-prepared finish lasts a long time if it’s looked after. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Can you change the colour of my bath?

Yes. We can resurface a coloured bath in white, and we can do the rest of the suite as well.

What information do you need?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787.

How to look after the repair

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
  • Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners

Dry the bath after use if possible, and rinse away any product left on the surface.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.

Can I fix it myself?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.

What affects the price in Rushop

Resurfacing from £350. Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:

  • How many areas need work
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • What the surface is made of
  • How many items we do on one visit

Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

How to get a fixed price

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

For a price in Rushop, pictures are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
