Bath re-enamelling in Russland

Bath re-enamelling in Russland, done in place

Cast iron, steel, acrylic, roll-top and period baths can all be resurfaced. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. Typical jobs include a peeling or bubbling previous coating and a period or roll-top bath worth keeping, across pressed steel baths, basins & shower trays and Victorian roll-tops.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

What happens on the day

Here’s how a visit typically runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and tidy away. Plan for the best part of a day from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the next day.

How to prepare

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Landlords, agents and businesses in Russland

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Russland as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

Why repair rather than replace?

A replacement frequently means several trades over several days. Re-enamelling is one technician, typically one day. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. A repair generally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Why book with us

  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK

See our pricing or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

When a repair isn’t the answer

We would rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • Steel that has corroded right through
  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Surfaces we repair

Russland: your questions answered

How soon can you come?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

What happens next?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.

Is repairing better than replacing?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

How long does re-enamelling last?

That depends on preparation and how the bath is treated. Properly prepared and looked after, it lasts well, and it’s guaranteed for a year.

Do you charge for travel?

There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

Can you re-enamel a roll-top bath?

Yes. We can do the inside and outside if you’d like.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders in Russland.

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

What your bath is made of matters

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Russland. What changes the price is:

  • How much damage there is
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Getting a price from pictures

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To help us price it:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Any details about the material
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.

Aftercare tips

To keep it looking its best:

  • Never use suction bath mats
  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs right away
  • Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured

Treat the new finish gently at first: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.
