Bath re-enamelling at your home in Sandbank
A re-enamelled bath looks and feels like a new one, but without the cost and upheaval of a refit. It’s ideal if you like your bathroom but not the state of the bath. Whether it’s chips and rust in more than one place and a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean, we can generally put it right, on acrylic baths, pressed steel baths and cast iron baths alike.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Work for landlords and builders
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We will fit around changeovers where we can.
FAQs for Sandbank
How soon can you come?
Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.
Will there be fumes?
Yes, while we’re applying the finish. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.
How long does re-enamelling take?
One day for most baths, ready the following day. We give you timings with the quote.
Will the new finish last?
A well-prepared finish lasts a long time if it’s looked after. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.
Which areas do you work in?
All of Argyll and Bute, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.
Can you fix a peeling bath coating?
Yes. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.
Do you need bath re-enamelling in Sandbank?
Older baths frequently have several problems at once: dull areas, chips, rust and staining. Resurfacing sorts them out together.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough
- A bath in a colour that no longer suits
- Chips and rust in more than one place
- An old resurfacing that is failing

What your bath is made of matters
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is what we repair.
Acrylic
Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, using a system that bonds to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported for the finish to last.
Repair or replace in Sandbank?
A replacement often means several trades over several days. Re-enamelling is one technician, normally one day, and the bath is usable the day after. Prices start from £350. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.

How the visit works
A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and clear up. Plan for most of the day. Before we go, we will explain how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.
- The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure until the following day.
Before we arrive
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Clear the area around the damage
- Let us know which floor the room is on

DIY kit or professional repair?
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
When we’d advise against a repair
In fairness, some problems need a different fix:
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.
Surfaces we repair
- Cast iron baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Acrylic baths
- Pressed steel baths
- Basins & shower trays
How to care for the repair
Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:
- Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
- Have chips seen to early
- Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
- Repair dripping taps early
Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, particularly where water is hard, so limescale can’t build up.
The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and any rust spreads underneath. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.
