Repairing versus replacing in Seven Sisters
Getting a cast iron bath out is hard work: it’s very heavy, may need breaking up, and the replacement can be costly. Resurfacing in place avoids that entirely. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Bath re-enamelling in Seven Sisters without replacing anything
A re-enamelled bath looks and feels like a new one, without any of the disruption of replacing it. It’s ideal if you like your bathroom but not the state of the bath. We regularly repair pressed steel baths, cast iron baths and Victorian roll-tops, and people most frequently call us about an old resurfacing that’s failing and a bath that stays dull however much you clean it.
You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we’ll come back.

How to look after the repair
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Have chips seen to early
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
- Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
Give the finish its full curing time before using the bath. After that, a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so have it stripped and resurfaced.

Repairs by material
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Can I fix it myself?
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.
What affects the price in Seven Sisters
Resurfacing from £350. There is no charge for travel to Seven Sisters. The price comes down to:
- Unusual colours or finishes
- How many areas need work
- Whether we combine several jobs
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Seven Sisters. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
How to get a fixed quote
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Try to send:
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
How the visit works
When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take the best part of a day. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.

- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- Primer and finish coats are applied.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.

What does bath re-enamelling cost?
