Bath Re-enamelling in Skidby
Problem with your bath in Skidby? We put it right where it is, mix the colour on the day and back it with a one-year guarantee.
- Resurfacing from £350
- A coloured bath you want in white
- A period or roll-top bath worth keeping

How we handle bath re-enamelling in Skidby
We re-enamel plenty of period and roll-top baths, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. Typical jobs include thin, worn enamel in places and an original cast iron bath that needs restoring, in Victorian roll-tops, basins & shower trays and acrylic baths.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will come back.

Should you replace it?
A refit takes several trades and several days. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, with the bath ready the next day. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
Why Skidby customers choose us
- A year’s guarantee on all work
- Nothing taken out or refitted

When we’d advise against a repair
It helps to know what we cannot do:
- Holes rusted through the metal
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
- A metal bath with a through crack
Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

The process
A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and clear up. Allow most of the day from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and how to look after it.
- We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
- Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
- We leave it to cure, and it’s generally ready the following day.
Getting ready for the visit
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Clear the area around the damage
How to get a price
A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
Advice
How we price bath re-enamelling
Prices start from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We look at:
- What the surface is made of
- The size and number of damaged areas
- Whether we combine several jobs
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
How to get a fixed quote
You can take the pictures on your phone, there is no need for anything special. Just make sure we can see:
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- What it’s made of, if you know
Send us photos of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your HU16 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.
FAQs for Skidby
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.
Will there be fumes?
A little, during the work. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.
Can you change the colour of my bath?
Yes. Coloured baths can be resurfaced in white, and we can do the rest of the suite as well.
Can pets and children be at home?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.
How soon can you come?
That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.
Can you repair something that is been repaired before?
Normally, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.
Do you hold any accreditations?
We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
Do you work in Skidby?
Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Skidby. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

What your bath is made of matters
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
DIY kit or professional repair?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
Looking after it afterwards
Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:
- Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
Rinse away dyes, oils and bath bombs straight after use, because they can mark the finish. Repair dripping taps promptly.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
