Bath re-enamelling & resurfacing in Snow Street, Suffolk
Bath re-enamelling in and around Snow Street: a fixed quote from photos, a tidy visit and a one-year guarantee.
- Resurfacing from £350
- Several chips and rust patches
- A peeling or bubbling previous coating

Can I fix it myself?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
Bath re-enamelling in Snow Street, done in place
After re-enamelling, the bath has a smooth, glossy, new-looking surface, without any of the disruption of replacing it. It’s ideal if you like your bathroom but not the state of the bath. If you are dealing with chips and rust in more than one place and stains that won’t shift, we can help, on basins & shower trays, cast iron baths and acrylic baths alike.
You’re covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book.

What your bath is made of matters
Acrylic
Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, with a coating system suited to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported for the finish to last.
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
What affects the price in Snow Street
Prices start from £350. You won’t pay by the hour. The price depends on:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
Quotes from your pictures
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- The material, if you know it
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- One picture of the whole bath
A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a bath generally involves a plumber, a fitter and a tiler. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, with the bath ready the following day. Prices start from £350. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing generally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

How the visit works
Your technician turns up when we said we would and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. Most visits take a full day, and the room is left clean and tidy.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.
Getting ready for the visit
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Related advice
When we’d advise against a repair
We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:
- A bath that is rusted through
- A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
- A bath split right through the body
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.
What we work on
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Basins & shower trays
- Acrylic baths
Questions from Snow Street
Can pets and children be at home?
On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before.
Do you charge for travel?
No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just ensure the landlord agrees.
How long is the bath unusable?
Generally a day, then it’s ready to use the following day. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
What happens if you find more damage?
We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.
What information do you need?

Once enamel loses its gloss, it stains more easily, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. That is the point where re-enamelling makes sense.
The most common problems we are called about are:
- Brown or grey marks that don’t clean off
- A roll-top that is seen better days
- A peeling or bubbling previous coating
- Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough

Keeping it looking good
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Fix dripping taps quickly
- Avoid suction-cup mats
- Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
Use mild, non-abrasive cleaners, avoid suction bath mats, and keep bottles and razors off the surface.
Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It just wears the enamel further and makes resurfacing more work.
