Bath re-enamelling in Spring without replacing anything
Most baths are re-enamelled in a day, and you can use the bath the next day. Nothing is disconnected or removed. Common call-outs are for a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean and an outdated colour you’d like to change, in acrylic baths, Victorian roll-tops and cast iron baths.
We guarantee the work for a year. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

FAQs for Spring
How long does re-enamelling take?
Most baths are done in a day, ready the next day. We give you timings with the quote.

Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
Do you cover the whole of Calderdale?
We work UK-wide, so Spring is covered. Prices do not change with location.
Can you price it without visiting?
Nearly always. If photos don’t show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.
Do you come to Spring?
Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Spring and the rest of Calderdale. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?
Usually, yes. The old coating comes off before we resurface it. Tell us about it when you ask for a quote.
Can pets and children be at home?
Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.
What your bath is made of matters
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
For landlords and businesses
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we will arrange it.
Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

How we price bath re-enamelling
Prices start from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Spring. The price reflects:
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- The colour and finish to match
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- Doing more than one item at once
A repair generally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.
Getting a price from photos
You can take the pictures on your phone, there is no need for anything special. Make sure they show:
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- Something in shot to show the size
- One picture of the entire bath
- Any details about the material
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
What we are called out for in Spring
By the time a bath is a few decades old, it may have a mix of issues: dull areas, chips, rust and staining. Resurfacing sorts them out together.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- Brown or grey marks that do not clean off
- A roll-top that’s seen better days
- A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
- A bath in a colour that no longer suits
Before you book anyone
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
- What prep work is covered
- Who turns up on the day
- What happens if they find more damage
Repair or replace: which is better?
Replacing the bath means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the walls and tiles and several days without a working bathroom. Re-enamelling gives the bath a new finish without moving it. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

How to look after the repair
Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:
- Store bottles off the bath
- Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
- Have chips seen to early
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
Wait for the curing time we give you before the first bath. Then, gentle cleaning with a soft cloth is enough.
Don’t try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It removes more of the surface and makes resurfacing more work.
The process
We turn up at the time we agreed with you and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes most of the day, and the room is left clean and tidy.
- First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
- Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
- The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
- We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
- The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.
Before we arrive
- Make sure the area is dry
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
