Bath re-enamelling in Staupes

Bath re-enamelling in Staupes without replacing anything

Resurfacing renews the whole surface of the bath without a refit. It’s the answer when the entire bath is tired rather than one spot. We’re often asked to fix lots of chips and rust spots and a bath that stays dull however much you clean it, across cast iron baths, basins & shower trays and Victorian roll-tops.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Questions from Staupes

Is it safe with children and pets around?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. The rest of the house is unaffected.

What happens after I send pictures?

We look at the pictures and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.

Will the new finish last?

That depends on preparation and how the bath is treated. Properly prepared and looked after, it lasts well, and our work is guaranteed for a year.

Does re-enamelling smell?

Some odour is normal while we spray, which is why we ventilate the bathroom. It clears as the finish cures.

Will you leave a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?

Yes. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.

Why repair rather than replace?

Getting a cast iron bath out is hard work: it’s very heavy, may need breaking up, and the replacement can be costly. Resurfacing in place avoids that entirely. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Why book with us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • No extra charge for your area
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

When to call us in Staupes

Sometimes it’s an earlier resurfacing that has failed, peeling around the waste or bubbling. We strip what’s failing and start again.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • Chips and rust in more than one place
  • Staining under the taps and around the waste
  • A bath in a colour that no longer suits
  • An old resurfacing that’s failing

What to look for in a quote

  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • How your room will be protected
  • How long it needs to cure
  • How to care for the finish

Our hiring checklist

Keeping it looking good

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Avoid suction-cup mats
  • Repair dripping taps early
  • Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners

Treat the new finish gently at first: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.

Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and any rust spreads underneath. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.

Work for landlords and builders

For anyone letting property in or around Staupes, we will quote for several properties at once. Just send photos for each address and we will come back with a combined price.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in North Yorkshire and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

The process

Your technician turns up when we said we would and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. The work itself takes a full day, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure until the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

Related advice

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. There is no charge for travel to Staupes. The price comes down to:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How many areas need work

Set against the cost of replacement, repairing typically costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Quotes from your pictures

Before you send pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

Upload pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you are in Staupes, and we will reply with a fixed price.

What we cannot put right

Some jobs are not right for a repair, including:

  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before you book.
