Bath re-enamelling at your home in Stithians

We don’t move the bath, so your taps, tiles and plumbing are left alone. It typically takes one visit, and can be used again the day after. Common call-outs are for a bath in a colour that no longer suits and a roll-top that’s seen better days, across pressed steel baths, acrylic baths and Victorian roll-tops.

All our work is covered by our one-year guarantee.

Should you replace it?

For a sound bath, resurfacing costs far less than replacement, once you add removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating to the price of a new bath. It’s also far quicker. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You will see the full price before you book, with nothing added on the day.

What you get with us

  • A fixed quote before you book
  • No need to remove anything
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Most jobs done in one visit

See our pricing and bath cost comparison.

How to care for the repair

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Store bottles off the bath
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs straight away
  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
  • A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away

Wait for the curing time we give you before the first bath. After that, a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading and make the job bigger. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

Stithians: your questions answered

What happens next?

You’ll get a fixed quote back. There’s no obligation to book.

Does the bath have to be removed?

Not at all. We work on the bath in place, with the room protected and ventilated.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Can you do the outside of a roll-top?

Yes, frequently. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

What information do you need?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we will do the rest.

Is there a smell?

Yes, while we’re applying the finish. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. Each job gets its own fixed quote. These are the things that affect it:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The material

Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Getting a price from pictures

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • One picture of the whole bath
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Most customers in Stithians get their price from pictures. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

What we cannot put right

We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • Steel that has corroded right through
  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Acrylic baths
  • Basins & shower trays

How it works

From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes the best part of a day, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
  2. The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
  3. We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
  5. We leave it to cure, and it’s normally ready the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Advice

Work for landlords and builders

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit.

What your bath is made of matters

Pressed steel

Steel baths re-enamel well, once any rust has been treated. Steel often rusts by the plughole, so we pay close attention there.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
