Bath Re-enamelling for Straiton homes
Fixed-price bath re-enamelling in Straiton and the surrounding area, normally in one visit.
- Resurfacing from £350
- Worn patches where water runs and sits
- Lots of chips and rust spots

What your bath is made of matters
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
Bath re-enamelling in Straiton, done in place
Cast iron and steel baths are ideal for re-enamelling, and acrylic baths can be resurfaced too. The result is a smooth, even, glossy finish. Common call-outs are for lots of chips and rust spots and an outdated colour you’d like to change, in Victorian roll-tops, cast iron baths and acrylic baths.
A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

When to call us in Straiton
Enamel’s shine is only skin deep, and every scrub with an abrasive cleaner takes a little away. Eventually the surface turns porous and stains.
Typical reasons for a call-out include:
- A roll-top that’s seen better days
- Thin, worn enamel in places
- A bath in a colour that no longer suits
- Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough
Before you book anyone
- When it can be used again
- A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
- How the room is protected while they work
- How to care for the finish
What we cannot put right
A repair isn’t right for every job, including:
- Steel that has corroded right through
- A bath split right through the body
- An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before you book.
Surfaces we repair
- Victorian roll-tops
- Cast iron baths
- Pressed steel baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Acrylic baths
The process
We begin by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we are doing. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. It normally takes the best part of a day, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.
- We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
- We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.
Getting ready for the visit
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
How to get a price
Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole bath, we can price the job.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.
Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. We do not charge extra for travel to Straiton. The price comes down to:
- The colour and finish to match
- How easy the damage is to reach
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- The type of damage
A repair generally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we’ll give you the exact figure.
Quotes from your photos
When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:
- What it’s made of, if you know
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- One picture of the whole bath
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, add your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.
