About our bath re-enamelling in Surrey Canal
We resurface cast iron, steel and acrylic baths, including roll-tops and period baths. Several coats of finish go on over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. Typical jobs include lots of chips and rust spots and a coating lifting around the plughole, on cast iron baths, Victorian roll-tops and pressed steel baths.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re covered after the visit.

Repair or replace: which is better?
A new bath means a plumber, removing a heavy bath, re-tiling or making good the walls and several days without a working bathroom. Re-enamelling gives the bath a new finish without moving it. Prices start from £350. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Landlord and trade work in Surrey Canal
If you manage property in Surrey Canal, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Just send pictures for each address and we will price them together.
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. You won’t pay by the hour. The price depends on:
- How easy the damage is to reach
- What kind of damage it is
- How hard the colour is to match
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
Set against the cost of replacement, repairing typically costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
Send photos for a quote
You can take the pictures on your phone, there is no need for anything special. Make sure they show:
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and no obligation.

Surrey Canal questions
Does someone need to be in?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.
How soon can you come?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.
How long does re-enamelling last?
That depends on preparation and how the bath is treated. Properly prepared and looked after, it lasts well, and our work is guaranteed for a year.
What if the damage is worse than the photos show?
It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.
Is there any odour?
There may be a mild smell during the work.
Can you fix a peeling bath coating?
In most cases. The old coating comes off before we resurface it. Mention it when you send pictures.
What areas do you cover?
We work UK-wide, and that includes Surrey Canal. Prices don’t change with location.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.
Common problems we fix in Surrey Canal
Sometimes it’s an earlier resurfacing that has failed, peeling around the waste or bubbling. Failing coatings are stripped back before we resurface.
People usually call us when they notice one of these:
- A dull, rough surface that will not come clean
- A roll-top that’s seen better days
- Thin, worn enamel in places
- A bath in a colour that no longer suits

Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
How it works
We work cleanly and quietly. Protection goes down first, then the work takes most of the day. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.
- We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
- The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
- We leave it to cure, and it’s generally ready the day after.
Before we arrive
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Make sure the area is dry
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
How to get a price
No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.
Advice
Keeping it looking good
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
- Respect the curing time we give you
- Get any chip repaired quickly
- Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
Use mild, non-abrasive cleaners, avoid suction bath mats, and keep bottles and razors off the surface.
On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading, and each one adds to the preparation. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.
When we’d advise against a repair
A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
- Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
- Holes rusted through the metal
Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before you book.
Materials we repair
- Pressed steel baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Acrylic baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Cast iron baths
