Bath Re-enamelling for Tanis homes
Problem with your bath in Tanis? We put it right where it is, mix the colour on the day and guarantee the work for a year.
- Resurfacing from £350
- A bath in a colour that no longer suits
- Chips and rust in more than one place

Can I fix it myself?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
How we handle bath re-enamelling in Tanis
We re-enamel a lot of period and roll-top baths, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Doing them in place keeps an original feature. Our technicians work on acrylic baths, Victorian roll-tops and pressed steel baths, and the jobs we see most are stains that won’t shift and a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean.
You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Should you replace it?
Replacing a bath can take several days across several trades. Resurfacing takes one technician and usually a day, and the bath is usable the day after. Prices start from £350. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

How the visit works
There’s not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to a full day, tidy-up included.
- First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
- The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.
Getting ready for the visit
- Ensure the area is dry
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
- Keep a parking space free if you can

Advice
How we price bath re-enamelling
Prices start from £350. There is no area surcharge for Tanis. The price reflects:
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- How hard the colour is to match
- The size and number of damaged areas
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Quotes from your pictures
Two or three clear pictures are usually enough. It helps if you send:
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- Any details about the material
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- A wider photo showing the whole bath
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed price without visiting.

Keeping it looking good
Nothing complicated is needed:
- Store bottles off the bath
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
- Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
- Never use suction bath mats
Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, particularly where water is hard, to stop limescale building up.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
Different materials, different repairs
Pressed steel
Steel baths re-enamel well, once any rust has been treated. Steel frequently rusts by the plughole, so we check it carefully.
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.
What we’re called out for in Tanis
Enamel’s shine is only skin deep, and every scrub with an abrasive cleaner takes a little away. After years of use, the surface becomes porous and stains easily.
It’s worth getting a quote if you see:
- Chips and rust in more than one place
- An outdated colour you’d like to change
- A roll-top that’s seen better days
- A peeling or bubbling previous coating

Tanis questions
Can you price it without visiting?
Generally, yes. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed price without visiting.
Do you cover the entire of Wiltshire?
The entire UK, including all of Wiltshire. Send your postcode with your photos and we will offer you dates.
Can you re-enamel a roll-top bath?
Yes, often. We resurface the inside, and the outside can be refinished too.
How soon can you come?
Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.
Will it make a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.
Do I have to be there?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.
Is there a call-out fee?
No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.
What we cannot put right
We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
- Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
- An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.
