Bath re-enamelling in The Moor without replacing anything
We resurface cast iron, steel and acrylic baths, including roll-tops and period baths. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. We regularly repair cast iron baths, Victorian roll-tops and pressed steel baths, and common reasons people contact us are a coating lifting around the plughole and a period or roll-top bath worth keeping.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will sort it.

Repair or replace: which is better?
Replacing a bath typically involves a plumber, a fitter and a tiler. Re-enamelling takes one technician and usually one day, with the bath ready the following day. Prices start from £350. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

The Moor questions
Do the materials smell?
There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It clears as the materials cure.
How long is the bath unusable?
Usually one day, with the bath ready the next day. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.
Is there a call-out fee?
Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Can a failed resurfacing be redone?
In most cases. The old coating comes off before we resurface it. Tell us about it when you ask for a quote.
When can you do it?
We will give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.
Do you hold any accreditations?
We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

What bath re-enamelling costs
Resurfacing from £350. We do not charge extra for travel to The Moor. The price comes down to:
- The material and finish
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- How hard the colour is to match
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
How to get a fixed price
When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:
- One picture of the entire bath
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Any details about the material
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
Different materials, different repairs
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
What a repair cannot fix
We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:
- Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
- Holes rusted through the metal
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.
What we work on
- Acrylic baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Pressed steel baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Cast iron baths
What happens on the day
Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your photos first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes the best part of a day, and the room is left clean and tidy.
- The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
- Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
- The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
- We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
- The bath is left to cure and can generally be used the next day.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
Advice
DIY repairs versus a professional job
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
About our accreditations · Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee.
