What affects the price in Woodbury

Prices start from £350. You’ll know the full cost before booking. We look at:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How many areas need work
  • The material and finish

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Quotes from your pictures

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Any details about the material
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

About our bath re-enamelling in Woodbury

We clean, repair and prime the bath before spraying the new finish. The preparation is what makes it last, so we do not cut corners on it. Typical jobs include staining under the taps and around the waste and thin, worn enamel in places, on Victorian roll-tops, acrylic baths and cast iron baths.

Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee in Woodbury and across Central Bedfordshire.

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Woodbury

Do you come to Woodbury?

We do. Repair technicians travel to Woodbury from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.

Does someone need to be in?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You do not need to watch us work.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Do you resurface freestanding baths?

Yes, roll-tops are a big part of our work. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.

Is there a call-out fee?

We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. If photos do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

Can you fix a peeling bath coating?

Yes. Removing the old finish takes extra time, which we include in the price.

DIY kit or professional repair?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Woodbury

Enamel does not fail overnight. Years of cleaning, hard water and hot baths wear the gloss away, typically first under the taps and around the waste.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • Staining under the taps and around the waste
  • Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough
  • Chips and rust in more than one place
  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring

Questions to ask before you book

  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • When it can be used again
  • How your room will be protected
  • What prep work is covered

Choosing a repair company

What we cannot put right

We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through
  • A bath that is rusted through
  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Cast iron baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Acrylic baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays

Repair or replace: which is better?

A replacement often means several trades over several days. Resurfacing takes one technician and typically a day. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why book with us

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot.

Pressed steel

Steel baths re-enamel well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we pay close attention there.

Looking after it afterwards

A little care keeps the finish looking good. We recommend:

  • Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
  • Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
  • Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
  • Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface

Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, especially in hard water areas, to stop limescale building up.

Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It just wears the enamel further.

How it works

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you know when to expect us. On site, it takes a full day in most cases. We leave the room clean.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

How to prepare

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Getting a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
