Bath re-enamelling at your home in Wootton
After cleaning, repairing and priming, we spray on the new finish. The preparation is what makes it last, and we take our time over it. We are often asked to fix an old resurfacing that’s failing and brown or grey marks that don’t clean off, across pressed steel baths, basins & shower trays and Victorian roll-tops.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

DIY repairs versus a professional job
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

Keeping it looking good
How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:
- Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
- Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
- Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- Fix dripping taps quickly
Treat the new finish gently at first: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.
Work for landlords and builders
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Wootton use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it usually costs far less than a refit.
When we’d advise against a repair
A repair isn’t right for every job, including:
- Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.
What we work on
- Basins & shower trays
- Cast iron baths
- Pressed steel baths
- Acrylic baths
- Victorian roll-tops
Why repair rather than replace?
If you like your bathroom but not your bath’s surface, resurfacing is the simplest answer. Nothing else is disturbed. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it.

What we do, step by step
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take a full day, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
- We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
- We leave it to cure, and it’s normally ready the following day.
How to prepare
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Open a window if you can

Advice
Repairs by material
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.
Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Wootton
Often the bath has just had decades of use. Underneath, a cast iron or steel bath is usually as strong as ever.
Most people get in touch when they notice one of these:
- An outdated colour you’d like to change
- A coating lifting around the plughole
- Lots of chips and rust spots
- Worn patches where water runs and sits
Before booking anyone

- A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
