What a repair cannot fix
A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
- A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
- Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
- Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. There’s no area surcharge for Alloa. The price reflects:
- What the surface is made of
- How much damage there is
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- Unusual colours or finishes
We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Quotes from your photos
You can normally get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
Looking after it afterwards
A little care keeps the finish looking good. We recommend:
- Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
- Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
- Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
- Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Deal with new chips early, before rust sets in.
A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.
Repairing versus replacing in Alloa
Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: they’re very heavy to remove, especially upstairs, and replacing like for like isn’t cheap. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Prices start from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Repairs by material
Acrylic
An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.
Cast iron
Cast iron is heavy and rigid, finished with fired enamel. Chips can rust if left, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, so it’s always worth repairing.
FAQs for Alloa
Can tenants book a repair?
We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.
Do you charge for travel?
There is no separate call-out charge. Your fixed quote includes everything.
When can I have a bath again?
Most baths can be used the next day. We will tell you the exact curing time when we finish.
What happens once I’ve sent photos?

How invisible is a bath repair?
On a glossy bath, you’ll struggle to find it. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.
Will the repair last?
It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It’s covered by our one-year guarantee.
Which areas do you work in?
The entire UK, including all of Clackmannanshire. Send your postcode with your photos and we’ll offer you dates.

What we do, step by step
You do not need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take a few hours, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
- Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
- We match both the colour and the shine.
- We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the day after.
How to prepare
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
How to get a price
We price from photos so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.
