When to call us in Belle Vue

Rust normally starts where water sits, by the plughole, beneath dripping taps or in an unrepaired chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • A chip where the taps sit
  • A failed DIY repair that is discoloured or lifting
  • Chips caused by builders
  • Holes from dropped items

What to look for in a quote

  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • What preparation is included
  • How your room will be protected
  • How changes to the job are handled

Bath repair in Belle Vue, done in place

A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and you can usually bathe again the following day. You will not need a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. Common call-outs are for chips along the edge of the bath and a kit repair that didn’t last, in acrylic, pressed steel enamel and whirlpool & spa baths.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

What we do, step by step

We begin by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we are doing. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. It normally takes two to three hours for most chips, and we’ll tell you if anything changes.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can normally use the bath the following day.

Repair or replace: which is better?

For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it’s done in one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Our bath repair starts from £95. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

What you get with us

  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • No need to remove anything
  • Colour-matched on site
  • A fixed quote before booking

Questions from Belle Vue

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

In most cases. Send us a picture of the hole and one from under the bath if you can.

Do the materials smell?

There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It fades as everything cures.

Do you charge for travel?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Do you come to Belle Vue?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Belle Vue and the rest of Shropshire. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is my repair covered?

Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Will the repair show?

The goal is a repair that blends in. The rest of the bath’s condition makes a difference, and we’ll tell you what to expect.

Can pets and children be at home?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

What affects the price in Belle Vue

Repairs from £95. We give every job a fixed quote from photos. These are the things that affect it:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The type of damage
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Getting a price from photos

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Honest limits

We would rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • A steel bath rusted through
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, just like other baths.

Aftercare tips

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
  • Have new chips seen to early

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and water can get through to the floor below.
