Bath repair for Kingsland homes

About our bath repair in Kingsland

We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath. You can normally use the bath the day after. If you are dealing with rust spots around the plughole and scuffs and scratches in the surface, we can usually put it right, whatever the material.

You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Rusty chip next to a bath plughole, before and after repair

What a repair cannot fix

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. We cannot fix:

  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • A steel bath rusted through

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • The material and finish
  • The type of damage
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How many items we do on one visit

A repair generally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Send pictures for a quote

Two or three clear pictures are usually enough. It helps if you send:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A photo taken from further back
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and no obligation.

How to look after the repair

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it
  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent

Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before running a bath. From then on, mild cleaning is all it needs.

Rust spreads under enamel faster than most people expect. A chip the size of a fingernail can become a much larger patch if it’s left for months, so it pays to deal with it early.

Can I fix it myself?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.

How it works

From the moment we arrive, we keep the work contained to the one room. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes a morning or an afternoon, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, usually the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Ensure the area is dry

Advice

Why repair rather than replace?

Many people think a damaged bath means a new one. In most cases it does not: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, without the cost and upheaval of replacing it. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Kingsland: your questions answered

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Mention it when you send photos.

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

Most of the time. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so we need access under the bath.

Do you repair coloured baths?

Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including older coloured suites.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

How long does the repair take to cure?

Most baths can be used the following day. We confirm the time before we leave.

Do you come to Kingsland?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Kingsland and the rest of Shropshire. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

Will I be able to see the repair?

We aim for a repair you cannot easily find. The rest of the bath’s condition makes a difference, and we’ll tell you what to expect.

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we’ll arrange it.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Different materials, different repairs

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.
