A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and the bath is back in use the next day. There’s no need to book a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. We regularly repair cast iron enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and pressed steel enamel, and common reasons people get in touch are an old repair that has yellowed or come loose and a cracked acrylic bath.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are covered after the visit.

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to Black Pill. The price depends on:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The material
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How many items we do on one visit

Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Getting a price from pictures

Phone pictures are fine. Just ensure we can see:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed quote back. Quotes are free and no obligation.

What we can’t put right

Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:

  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

What we work on

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel

Should you replace it?

Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and getting rid of the old bath. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in one visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

What we do, step by step

There is not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take a few hours, tidy-up included.

  1. First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Advice

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. Chips can rust if left, but the bath itself lasts for generations, which makes it well worth repairing.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

Questions from Black Pill

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

Most of the time. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so we need access under the bath.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Can you redo an old repair?

Yes. We take out the old repair and do it properly. Tell us about it when you send pictures.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

We look at the photos and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

How do I get a price for bath repair in Black Pill?

Repairs from £95. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the entire UK, including Black Pill and the rest of Swansea. Send your postcode with your pictures and we will offer you dates.

Can you repair several things at once?

Of course, and it usually saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.

Aftercare tips

It’s all simple stuff:

  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Do not leave a fresh chip for long
  • Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it

Look after the repair the same way as the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.

A small chip is a quick job. Leave them and they collect dirt, stain and, on metal baths, rust, so early repair saves time and money.
