Bath repair near Blaenllechau

Repair or replace in Blaenllechau?

Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: tiles along the rim usually crack when it comes out, the panel may not fit the new one, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. A repair skips all of it. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking.

Why us?

  • Colour-matched on site
  • Everything repaired in place
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK

Bath repair in Blaenllechau without replacing anything

It pays to repair bath damage while it’s small. On steel and cast iron, exposed metal starts to rust, while cracks in acrylic grow each time the bath moves. Repairing it stops the damage getting worse. We’re often asked to fix a hole punched through by something heavy and chips along the edge of the bath, on cast iron enamel, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we will sort it.

Before and after: a chipped, rust-stained bath around the plughole

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Looking after it afterwards

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine.

If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath until it’s repaired. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.

Signs you need bath repair in Blaenllechau

Nearly all the chips we see start with something being dropped: bottles, shower heads, tiles and tools. On steel and cast iron baths, a chip that reaches the metal lets water in, and rust follows.

The most common problems we’re called about are:

  • Chips under the taps
  • Chips caused by builders
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • Rust spots around the plughole

10 questions to ask before you book

What your bath is made of matters

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Your questions about bath repair in Blaenllechau

Will the repair show?

On a bath in good condition, a colour-matched repair is very hard to spot. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.

Do you charge for travel?

We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses.

Which areas do you work in?

We work UK-wide, and that includes Blaenllechau. Prices do not change with location.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Do you work in Blaenllechau?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Blaenllechau and the rest of Rhondda Cynon Taff. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Will there be a smell?

It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The material and finish
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How easy the damage is to reach

What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

Send photos for a quote

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Where you are, by postcode

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of photos through our quote form or ring us. We will say immediately whether it can be repaired.

How the visit works

Your technician turns up when we said we would and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. Most visits take two to three hours for most chips, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can generally use the bath the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Open a window if you can
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
