Your questions about bath repair in Brighton and Hove

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

How do I get a price for bath repair in Brighton and Hove?

Repairs from £95. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

What information do you need?

Send pictures through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we’ll take it from there.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before and we’ll plan for it.

Will I be able to see the repair?

The goal is a repair that blends in. How well it disappears depends on the condition of the rest of the bath, and we will tell you what to expect.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses across Brighton and Hove.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

What areas do you cover?

Bath repair in Brighton and Hove without replacing anything

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and the bath is back in use the following day. There’s no need to book a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. We regularly repair pressed steel enamel, acrylic and whirlpool & spa baths, and people most often call us about chips on the rim or sides and a hole punched through by something heavy.

Every job is backed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. We give every job a fixed quote from photos. This is what makes a difference:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How many areas need work

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Brighton and Hove. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Quotes from your photos

Phone pictures are fine. Ensure they show:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • One picture of the entire bath
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Landlord and trade work in Brighton and Hove

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

How to look after the repair

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners

A repaired bath needs no special treatment. Skip bleach and gritty creams.

Do not leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.

What we cannot put right

We would rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding

What we do, step by step

You do not need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take a few hours, depending on the damage, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Advice

Do you need bath repair in Brighton and Hove?

Nearly all the chips we see start with something being dropped: bottles, shower heads, tiles and tools. On steel and cast iron baths, any chip down to the metal lets water in, and rust follows.

You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:

  • Holes from dropped items
  • Scratches you can feel with a fingernail
  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose

Our hiring checklist

Repair or replace: which is better?

When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and you keep the bath you chose. If the whole surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we will tell you. Prices start from £95. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
