Trusted bath repair in Brimstage

Bath repair in Brimstage, done in place

A damaged bath does not have to mean a new bathroom. Our technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, with the colour mixed on site so the repair is hard to spot. We regularly repair acrylic, cast iron enamel and pressed steel enamel, and people most often call us about snagging damage from a refit and scratches you can feel with a fingernail.

Every repair is covered by our one-year guarantee.

Before and after: a damaged acrylic bath corner repaired in place

What your bath is made of matters

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Brimstage

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Brimstage as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it usually costs far less than a refit.

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. There’s no charge for travel to Brimstage. The price comes down to:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Access to the area
  • How many areas need work

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Send photos for a quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Upload photos of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your CH63 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Brimstage questions

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before and we will plan for it.

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes, often. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

In most cases. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so we need access under the bath.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.

What a repair can’t fix

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic

What we’re called out for in Brimstage

A bath gets knocked about more than you’d think: bottles, shower heads and razors are dropped every day, and taps and wastes are tightened against the surface. Sooner or later, most baths pick up a chip.

You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:

  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • Chips under the taps
  • Chips on the rim or sides
  • Scratches you can feel with a fingernail

Questions to ask before you book

  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • How soon you can use it again
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?

Our hiring checklist

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, the panel may not fit the new one, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. A repair skips all of it. Prices start from £95. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing typically costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

What you get with us

  • Everything repaired in place
  • Fixed prices from your pictures
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish

See our prices page or bath cost comparison.

How it works

On the day, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job typically takes a few hours. We clean up when we’re done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Getting a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.
