Bath repair at your home in Bwcle

A damaged bath doesn’t have to mean a new bathroom. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, with the colour mixed on site so the repair is hard to spot. If you’re dealing with scratches you can feel with a fingernail and rust spots around the plughole, we can typically put it right.

Every job is backed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work.

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Keeping it looking good

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Do not leave a fresh chip for long
  • Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
  • Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath

Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Every use opens the crack a little more, and it can start to leak underneath.

Should you replace it?

A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: tiles along the rim usually crack when it comes out, the panel may not fit the new one, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. A repair skips all of it. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why us?

10 questions to ask before you book

Bwcle questions

Can pets and children be at home?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.

Is there any odour?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

Most of the time. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so access behind the panel is important.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses in Bwcle.

What about rust by the waste?

Yes. We take out the rust and any loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Do you work in Bwcle?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Bwcle. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before and we’ll plan for it.

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Tell us about it when you send pictures.

DIY kit or professional repair?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

For landlords and businesses

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access.

For anyone letting property in or around Bwcle, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we’ll come back with a combined price.

What happens on the day

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job usually takes two to three hours for most chips. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the next day.

How to prepare

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Ask for a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
