Trusted bath resealing in California

Bath resealing in California, done in place

Resealing is quick, but it transforms the look. Fresh joints make the whole room look cleaner, and they keep water out. If you are dealing with missing sealant behind the taps and black spots in the silicone, we can normally put it right, whatever the material.

You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before booking.

How to care for the repair

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Open a window after bathing
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly

Keep the room well ventilated, and wipe the joints after use so mould struggles to take hold.

Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

When to call us in California

No sealant lasts for ever. Each shower leaves moisture and soap behind, which mould loves, and the joint flexes each time the bath fills.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • Black spots in the silicone
  • Unsealed corners
  • Stained silicone
  • Gaps in the seal

Questions to ask before you book

  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • How soon you can use it again
  • Who will actually do the work
  • Aftercare advice

Our hiring checklist

The process

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, protect the area, and get on with the job, which normally takes around two hours. If anything looks different from your pictures, we will talk to you before going ahead.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Common questions in California

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders in California.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Why does mould come back so fast?

Damp is the cause. Ventilation and drying keep it clean longer.

Why does my sealant keep splitting?

Something is moving. If it keeps happening, the support may need fixing.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

We will give you the curing time, normally around a day.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Will you leave a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

When we would advise against a repair

A repair is not always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Wet rooms
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

What affects the price in California

There’s no charge for travel to California. The price comes down to:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • What the surface is made of
  • How hard the colour is to match

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.

Getting a price from photos

You can normally get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath or shower, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

Repairs by material

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Work for landlords and builders

For anyone letting property in or around California, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we’ll come back with a combined price.

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Why it’s worth resealing in California

Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, and that damage costs much more to fix. Compared with replacing, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
