Bath repair at your home in Coxley

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and the bath is back in use the following day. You won’t need a plumber or tiler, because the bath does not move. We regularly repair whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel, and the jobs we see most are rusty patches near the plughole and scratches you can feel with a fingernail.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Coxley as everywhere else we work.

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Coxley. The price reflects:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • What the surface is made of
  • How many areas need work
  • What kind of damage it is

Compared with replacing, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

You can typically get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A photo taken from further back

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.

What we do, step by step

Arrival times are agreed in advance. Once we’re there, the work takes two to three hours for most chips for most jobs. We leave the room clean.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. Once it has cured, generally by the following day, the bath is ready to use.

Preparing for the visit

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

How to get a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, include your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Advice

DIY kit or professional repair?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

For landlords and businesses

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
  • Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it

Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and water can get through to the floor below.

Coxley questions

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Regularly. The old material comes out, any rust is treated, then we repair it properly.

Is my repair covered?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

How invisible is a bath repair?

The goal is a repair that blends in. How well it disappears depends on the condition of the rest of the bath, and we will tell you what to expect.

What happens next?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.

What happens if you find more damage?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Will you leave a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before and we’ll plan for it.

Can rust on a bath be repaired?

Yes, very frequently. We take it back to sound metal, seal it, fill it and match the colour.

Repairing versus replacing in Coxley

When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and the bathroom stays as it is. Where the whole surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Our bath repair starts from £95. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.

When a repair is not the answer

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, just like other baths.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
