Bath repair in Cwrtnewydd

About our bath repair in Cwrtnewydd

A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. You can usually use the bath the following day. We are often asked to fix rust by the waste and overflow and chips along the edge of the bath, across acrylic, pressed steel enamel and cast iron enamel.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Cwrtnewydd as everywhere else we work.

Cwrtnewydd: your questions answered

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

Usually, yes, if we can reach behind it. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

Usually, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a picture.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes, frequently. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Can you redo an old repair?

Yes, we do this frequently. We strip it out, deal with any rust and repair it again.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes, for a year. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Will the repair last?

It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It carries our one-year guarantee.

What does bath repair cost?

Prices start from £95. Every job gets a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item and your postcode.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before.

Landlord and trade work in Cwrtnewydd

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Do you need bath repair in Cwrtnewydd?

Glass and heavy bottles cause more chips than anything else, closely followed by shower heads. Taps and wastes cause problems too: water collects there, so chips nearby rust quickly.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
  • Cracks in an acrylic bath
  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • Impact holes in acrylic

What your quote should include

  • How the room is protected while they work
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • Who turns up on the day
  • How changes to the job are handled

Choosing a repair company

Should you replace it?

For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It’s a fraction of the cost of a new bath and fitting, it takes one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Our bath repair starts from £95. Compared with replacing, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

What you get with us

  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Everything repaired in place

Honest limits

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Pressed steel enamel

Can I fix it myself?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

How the visit works

Arrival times are agreed in advance. On site, it takes a few hours. The room is left tidy and you will know when it can be used.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the day after.

How to prepare

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Advice

How to care for the repair

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
  • Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • Ensure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Rinse it down after each bath

A repaired bath needs no special treatment, beyond gentle cleaning. Skip bleach and gritty creams.

Rust spreads under enamel faster than most people expect. A chip the size of a fingernail can become a much larger patch if it’s left for months, so it pays to deal with it early.
