Bath repair in Dailly without replacing anything

You do not need a new bath because of a chip. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, with the colour mixed on site so the repair is hard to spot. We are often asked to fix rust by the waste and overflow and a chipped rim or side, on roll-top & freestanding, cast iron enamel and whirlpool & spa baths.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

What your bath is made of matters

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so repair chips early.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

Signs you need bath repair in Dailly

Many chips happen while the bathroom is being fitted. Tradespeople drop tools and tiles into the bath, often before anyone notices. We repair snagging damage like this regularly.

Contact us if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • Chips on the rim or sides
  • A kit repair that didn’t last
  • Scratches you can feel with a fingernail
  • Chips caused by builders

What your quote should include

  • How to look after the finish
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show

Choosing a repair company

Can I fix it myself?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

How the visit works

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, protect the area, then carry out the work, which normally takes two to three hours for most chips. If anything looks different from your photos, we will talk to you before going ahead.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the next day.

How to prepare

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Make sure the area is dry

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The material
  • How hard the colour is to match

We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Dailly. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

How to get a fixed price

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Any details about the material

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. Quotes are free and no obligation.

Your questions about bath repair in Dailly

Is a bath repair durable?

It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It carries our one-year guarantee.

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

Often, if there’s access underneath. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.

Can rust on a bath be repaired?

Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. The rust is cut back to clean metal and sealed before we fill and finish it.

Can you quote from photos?

Normally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Is my repair covered?

Yes, for a year. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Will there be a smell?

There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It fades as everything cures.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Is it messy?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

Work for landlords and builders

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in South Ayrshire and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Should you replace it?

A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, the panel may not fit the new one, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. A repair skips all of it. Our bath repair starts from £95. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

How to look after the repair

It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:

  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Have new chips seen to early

A repaired bath needs no special treatment, beyond gentle cleaning. Skip bleach and gritty creams and rinse after use.

Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.
