Bath repair in Deerland

When a repair isn’t the answer

We would rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic

Bath repair in Deerland without replacing anything

Repairing baths is what we do most. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all repaired in place, normally in one visit. If you’re dealing with deep scratches in acrylic and damage beneath the taps, we can help, whatever the material.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee in Deerland and across Pembrokeshire.

Can I fix it myself?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

Questions from Deerland

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

Frequently, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a photo.

How long does the repair take to cure?

Normally within a day, depending on the repair.

Do you charge for travel?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Is the work guaranteed?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Will the repair last?

A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and it’s guaranteed for a year. Gentle cleaning helps it last.

Can you repair a hole in a bath?

Often, if there is access underneath. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.

Do you work in Deerland?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Deerland for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

What happens next?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.

Looking after it afterwards

To keep it looking its best for years:

  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine without abrasive products.

Do not leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.

Work for landlords and builders

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

Repair or replace in Deerland?

A new bath costs more than the bath itself: taking out the old one, plumbing, tiling, a panel and redecorating. A repair is one job, done in one visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.

Why book with us

  • Colour-matched on site
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • One-year guarantee on every repair

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

How the visit works

There is not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take two to three hours for most chips, including clearing up.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can generally use the bath the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Getting a price

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of photos through our quote form or call us. We’ll say right away whether it can be repaired.

Common problems we fix in Deerland

Rust generally starts where water sits, around the waste, under the taps or in an old chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • A hole punched through by something heavy
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • Damage beneath the taps

What your quote should include
