Bath repair near Furnace End

What we are called out for in Furnace End

The usual cause is something heavy dropped into the bath, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: the bath isn’t properly supported, so it flexes under weight.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic

  • If travel is included in the price
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show

Our hiring checklist

Bath repair in Furnace End, done in place

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and the bath is back in use the following day. There is no need to book a plumber or tiler, because the bath doesn’t move. Our repair technicians work on pressed steel enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and roll-top & freestanding, and the jobs we see most are deep scratches in acrylic and snagging damage from a refit.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in Furnace End and everywhere else. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

What affects the price in Furnace End

Repairs from £95. You’ll know the full cost before booking. We take into account:

  • How many areas need work
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Send pictures for a quote

You can take the pictures on your phone. Just ensure we can see:

  • The material, if you know it
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

Repair or replace in Furnace End?

When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and you keep the bath you chose. Where the whole surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send pictures and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Why Furnace End clients choose us

  • Work done at your home or business
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • A year’s guarantee on all work

Looking after it afterwards

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
  • Do not leave razors or cans standing in the bath

Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before using the bath. From then on, mild cleaning is all it needs.

Rust spreads under enamel faster than most people expect. Left for months, a small chip can grow into a large rust patch, so early repair keeps the cost down.

FAQs for Furnace End

Is a repair better than a new one?

Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

How invisible is a bath repair?

On a glossy bath, you’ll struggle to find it. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.

What do you need from me?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Can rust on a bath be repaired?

Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners in Furnace End.

Will you leave a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Can you repair several things at once?

Of course, and it normally saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and we will quote them together.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted.

DIY kit or professional repair?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.

The process

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take a few hours, depending on the damage.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.
