Bath repair in Haigh, done in place

Whatever the damage, the aim is the same: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. Typical jobs include a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting and a chipped rim or side, in cast iron enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and pressed steel enamel.

You’re covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book.

What happens on the day

We begin by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and the work begins. It normally takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and we will keep you posted as we go.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can typically use the bath the following day.

Work for landlords and builders

For anyone letting property in or around Haigh, we will quote for several properties at once. Send pictures for each one and we will price them together.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Do you need bath repair in Haigh?

Heavy toiletries are the biggest single cause of chips, closely followed by shower heads. Fittings cause damage too: water sits around them, and any chip there soon rusts.

The most common problems we are called about are:

  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • A hole punched through by something heavy
  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • Damage beneath the taps

How to compare quotes

Honest limits

It helps to know what we can’t do too:

  • Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Repair or replace: which is better?

For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It’s a fraction of the cost of a new bath and fitting, it takes one visit, and the bathroom stays exactly as it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Compared with replacing, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Why us?

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Fixed prices from your pictures

Looking after it afterwards

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Store metal items away from the bath

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine without abrasive products.

Rust spreads under enamel faster than most people expect. Left for months, a small chip can grow into a large rust patch, so it pays to deal with it early.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
