How we handle bath repair in Harlow Hill
A damaged bath does not have to mean a new bathroom. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, with the colour mixed on site. We work on acrylic, whirlpool & spa baths and cast iron enamel, and the jobs we see most are a chip where the taps sit and chips along the edge of the bath.
Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

Repair or replace: which is better?
Swapping a damaged bath for a new one normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and disposing of the old one. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in a single visit. Prices start from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
Why book with us
- We leave the room as we found it
- Nothing taken out or refitted
- Same prices wherever you are
- CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited

The process
We turn up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. Most visits take a few hours, depending on the damage, and the room is left clean and tidy.
- We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.
How to prepare
- Open a window if you can
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
Ask for a price
Most clients in Harlow Hill get their price from photos. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
Advice
Looking after it afterwards
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Store metal items away from the bath
- Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
- Rinse it down after each bath
- Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath.
Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water can’t get in. Remove it before the repair.

When a repair isn’t the answer
Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:
- A steel bath rusted through
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
- Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Common questions in Harlow Hill
Do I need to be at home?
Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.
Will you leave a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.
Are there extra charges for Harlow Hill?
We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.
How long does the repair take to cure?
Typically the following day. We confirm the time before we leave.
Do you do work for letting agents?
We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.
What about rust by the waste?
Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. We take it back to sound metal, seal it, fill it and match the colour.
Will the repair last?
Done properly, a repair lasts for years, and it’s guaranteed for a year. Gentle cleaning helps.
Can you redo an old repair?
Regularly. The old material comes out, any rust is treated, then we repair it properly.
Landlords, agents and businesses in Harlow Hill
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.
For anyone letting property in or around Harlow Hill, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send photos for each one and we will price them together.
Different materials, different repairs
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.
What bath repair costs
Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Harlow Hill. The price reflects:
- The material
- How easy the damage is to reach
- What kind of damage it is
- The colour and finish to match
Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.
How to get a fixed quote
We price nearly every job from photos. This is what to send:
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- The material, if you know it
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
