Bath repair in Henllys without replacing anything

It pays to repair bath damage while it’s small. On steel and cast iron, exposed metal starts to rust, while cracks in acrylic grow each time the bath moves. Repairing it stops the damage getting worse. We regularly repair pressed steel enamel, acrylic and roll-top & freestanding, and common reasons people get in touch are rusty patches near the plughole and scuffs and scratches in the surface.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

FAQs for Henllys

Is my repair covered?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

Can landlords book you?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Will it make a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Can you quote from photos?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Can pets and children be at home?

Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.

What happens if you find more damage?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?

Normally, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a photo.

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Exposed steel rusts fast, particularly by the plughole, so repair chips early.

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

Signs you need bath repair in Henllys

The usual cause is something heavy dropped into the bath, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: the bath isn’t properly supported, so it flexes under weight.

The most common problems we are called about are:

  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • Scratches you can feel with a fingernail
  • A kit repair that didn’t last
  • Chips caused by builders

What your quote should include

  • How changes to the job are handled
  • If travel is included in the price
  • What preparation is included
  • Aftercare advice

Choosing a repair company

When a repair is not the answer

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • A steel bath rusted through
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel

Should you replace it?

Many people think a damaged bath means a new one. Typically it doesn’t: a proper repair gives it years more use, without the cost and upheaval of replacing it. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

What you get with us

  • Usually one visit, start to finish
  • Everything repaired in place
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface

How it works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take a few hours, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

How to get a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Keeping it looking good

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Rinse it down after each bath

Give the repair the full curing time we recommend before using the bath. After that, gentle cleaning keeps it looking good.

Small chips are quick to repair. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so early repair saves time and money.

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. There is no area surcharge for Henllys. The price reflects:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • Access to the area
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • What the surface is made of

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Henllys. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Send photos for a quote

Phone pictures are fine, there’s no need for anything special. Just ensure we can see:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • The material, if you know it
  • Details of any past repairs
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. There is no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.
