Bath repair for Leyfields homes

About our bath repair in Leyfields

A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and you can usually bathe again the day after. There’s no need to book a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. Our repair technicians work on roll-top & freestanding, acrylic and cast iron enamel, and the jobs we see most are chips under the taps and an old repair that has yellowed or come loose.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Leyfields as everywhere else we work.

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. You will know the full cost before you book. We take into account:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • What the surface is made of
  • How many areas need work

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.

Getting a price from photos

Phone photos are fine. Ensure they show:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.

For landlords and businesses

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details and we will arrange it.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Leyfields as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

Why repair rather than replace?

A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It’s a fraction of the cost of a new bath and fitting, it takes one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why book with us

  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • One price list for the entire UK
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Colour mixed on the day to match

Should I try a DIY kit first?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

When a repair isn’t the answer

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

What we work on

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

The process

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, then carry out the work, which generally takes a few hours, depending on the damage. If anything looks different from your photos, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the next day.

How to prepare

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

How to get a price

Upload photos of the damage and one of the whole item, with your B79 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

Advice

Looking after it afterwards

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
  • Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use
  • Don’t scrub with anything abrasive

Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.

Small chips are quick to repair. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so early repair saves time and money.

What your bath is made of matters

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, just like other baths.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, finished with fired enamel. Chips can rust if left, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, so it’s always worth repairing.
