Bath repair at your home in Midelney
We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. The method changes with the material: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. Our repair technicians work on acrylic, cast iron enamel and whirlpool & spa baths, and the jobs we see most are hairline or through cracks in acrylic and chips on the rim or sides.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Aftercare tips
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
- Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
- Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine.
If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and water can get through to the floor below.
DIY kit or professional repair?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
Should you replace it?
Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and replacing like for like isn’t cheap. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Prices start from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Do you need bath repair in Midelney?
Acrylic baths that crack nearly always have a support problem. Legs that aren’t adjusted, a missing cradle or a soft floor let the bath move until the acrylic gives way.
You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:
- Damage beneath the taps
- Holes from dropped items
- Chips caused by builders

Midelney questions
What information do you need?
Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we’ll do the rest.
Will the price change on the day?
The price is fixed for what the photos show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.
Are you a vetted contractor?
We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
Can you quote from pictures?
Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.
Do I have to be there?
We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.
Is repairing better than replacing?
Normally, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

What bath repair costs
Prices start from £95. There’s no charge for travel to Midelney. The price comes down to:
- The material and finish
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- How many items we do on one visit
- How much damage there is
The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before booking.
Getting a price from photos
A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Details of any past repairs
- Any details about the material
- Something in shot to show the size
Most customers in Midelney get their price from photos. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.
What a repair can’t fix
Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:
- Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
- Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
- A steel bath rusted through
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

How it works
The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we’re there. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a morning or an afternoon. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- We match both the colour and the shine.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.
Getting ready for the visit
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Open a window if you can
Getting a price
You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.
