Bath repair in Newtown

How we handle bath repair in Newtown

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and the bath is back in use the day after. You won’t need a plumber or tiler, because the bath does not move. Our technicians work on whirlpool & spa baths, pressed steel enamel and cast iron enamel, and people most frequently call us about rusty patches near the plughole and damage beneath the taps.

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee.

What we can’t put right

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Materials we work on in Newtown

Why repair rather than replace?

A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it takes one visit, and the bathroom stays exactly as it is. Our bath repair starts from £95. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

What you get with us

  • One visit for most repairs
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • One price list for the whole UK

The process

Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, do the job and clear up. Allow a few hours, depending on the damage from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, usually the following day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Advice

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to Newtown. The price comes down to:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The material and finish
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The colour and finish to match

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Send photos for a quote

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • One picture of the whole bath
  • Where you are, by postcode

We price from pictures so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Work for landlords and builders

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Exposed steel rusts fast, particularly by the plughole, so repair chips early.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.
