What affects the price in Peak Dale

Prices start from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The type of damage
  • How much damage there is

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Getting a price from pictures

When you take your pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.

Bath repair in Peak Dale without replacing anything

You don’t need a new bath because of a chip. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, with the colour mixed on site. We work on whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel, and common reasons people get in touch are damage done while the bathroom was being fitted and rusty patches near the plughole.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will come back.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, the panel may not fit the new one, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. A repair skips all of it. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.

What you get with us

  • No need to remove anything
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • No extra charge for your area

FAQs for Peak Dale

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.

Do you cover the entire of Derbyshire?

Everywhere in the UK, Peak Dale included. There is no extra charge for travel.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

What about rust by the waste?

Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. We take it back to sound metal, seal it, fill it and match the colour.

What happens if you find more damage?

The price is fixed for what the pictures show. If there’s more, we will tell you before starting.

Do you come to Peak Dale?

We do. Repair technicians travel to Peak Dale from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. The rest of the house is unaffected.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

What we can’t put right

We won’t take on work that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

What we work on

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

The process

Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Allow a morning or an afternoon. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can typically use the bath the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Aftercare tips

It’s all simple stuff:

  • Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it
  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating

Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.

A small chip is a quick job. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so it’s worth getting them done early.

Repairs by material

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
