How we handle bath repair in Penrhiwfer

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and you can typically bathe again the following day. You will not need a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. We work on whirlpool & spa baths, acrylic and pressed steel enamel, and the jobs we see most are rusty patches near the plughole and snagging damage from a refit.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re not left on your own once we have gone.

Before and after: a damaged acrylic bath corner repaired in place

How the visit works

You do not need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and start once you are happy with the plan. It usually takes a few hours, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

What a repair cannot fix

We will not take on work that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding

Why repair rather than replace?

A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: tiles along the rim typically crack when it comes out, the panel may not fit the new one, and the plumbing has to be disconnected and refitted. Repairing the damage avoids all of that. Our bath repair starts from £95. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Why us?

  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Work done at your home or business
  • One price list for the whole UK
  • Fixed prices from your photos

Can I fix it myself?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

For landlords and businesses

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Penrhiwfer use us as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Do you need bath repair in Penrhiwfer?

A bath gets knocked about more than you’d think: everyday items get dropped into it all the time, and fittings press hard against the enamel. Sooner or later, most baths pick up a chip.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • A hole punched through by something heavy
  • Cracks in an acrylic bath
  • A chipped rim or side

  • Who turns up on the day
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show

How to compare quotes

Penrhiwfer questions

Do I need to be at home?

We need someone to let us in. You do not need to watch us work.

How soon can you come?

We will give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Can you price it without visiting?

Usually, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Can you repair several things at once?

Of course, and it normally saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and we’ll quote them together.

Can rust on a bath be repaired?

Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners across Rhondda Cynon Taff.

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Yes. We take out the old repair and do it properly. Tell us about it when you send photos.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. There is no area surcharge for Penrhiwfer. What changes the price is:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How many areas need work

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Penrhiwfer. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Send photos for a quote

You can normally get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • One picture of the whole bath
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Any details about the material
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

We price from photos so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

What your bath is made of matters

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
