Trusted bath repair in Price Town

Bath repair in Price Town, done in place

A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which is far cheaper than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. Most baths can be used again the following day. Our repair technicians work on acrylic, cast iron enamel and pressed steel enamel, and common reasons people get in touch are a hole punched through by something heavy and rust spots around the plughole.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there is a problem and we will sort it.

When to call us in Price Town

A bath gets knocked about more than you’d think: bottles, shower heads and razors are dropped every day, and fittings press hard against the enamel. Sooner or later, most baths pick up a chip.

Look out for these signs:

  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • Chips under the taps
  • A chipped rim or side

What to look for in a quote

  • What aftercare is recommended
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • How your room will be protected

Why repair rather than replace?

A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It’s a fraction of the cost of a new bath and fitting, it takes one visit, and the bathroom stays exactly as it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

Why book with us

  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • One price list for the entire UK
  • Work done at your home or business

The process

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we’re doing. Then the area is sheeted and masked and the work begins. You can expect it to take two to three hours for most chips, and we will keep you posted as we go.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can generally use the bath the following day.

How to prepare

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Ensure the area is dry

How to get a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

Aftercare tips

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it
  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early

Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water cannot get in. Take it off before we arrive.

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. We price every job individually, from your photos. The main factors are:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • What the surface is made of

Compared with replacing, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

How to get a fixed price

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Any details about the material

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

What we can’t put right

Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel

Price Town questions

Is a bath repair durable?

It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It’s covered by our one-year guarantee.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we will tell you.

Will I be able to see the repair?

The goal is a repair that blends in. How well it disappears depends on the condition of the rest of the bath.

Do the materials smell?

Expect a mild smell while we’re working, which fades afterwards.

I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?

Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Mention it when you send photos.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.

How long does the repair take to cure?

Generally within a day, depending on the repair.

Can I fix it myself?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.
