What we’re called out for in Roach Bridge
Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and building work is a common culprit. Cracks in acrylic have a different cause: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- Chips on the rim or sides
- Damage beneath the taps
- A hole punched through by something heavy
- Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
What to look for in a quote
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
- What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
- Aftercare advice
- How long it needs to cure
About our bath repair in Roach Bridge
A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which is far cheaper than replacing a fitted bath. Most baths can be used again the following day. We regularly repair whirlpool & spa baths, acrylic and roll-top & freestanding, and common reasons people get in touch are chips under the taps and rust by the waste and overflow.
We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

How the visit works
You don’t need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. It generally takes a morning or an afternoon, and you can get on with other things while we are there.
- We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
- We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
- We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
- Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
- The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the next day.
Getting ready for the visit
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Let the surface dry out before the visit

DIY repairs versus a professional job
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

Repairing versus replacing in Roach Bridge
If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and the bathroom stays as it is. If the whole surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we will tell you. Our bath repair starts from £95. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.
What you get with us
- We leave the room as we found it
- One-year guarantee on every repair

When a repair isn’t the answer
We’d rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so these are the limits:
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
- Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
- A steel bath rusted through
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.
What we work on
- Pressed steel enamel
- Cast iron enamel
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Acrylic
- Whirlpool & spa baths
How to care for the repair
Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:
- Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
- Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine, avoiding abrasives.
A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.
What bath repair costs
Repairs from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to Roach Bridge. The price depends on:
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- How many items we do on one visit
- How much damage there is
- The colour and finish to match
We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Roach Bridge. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
