Need bath repair in Shelton Lock?

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Shelton Lock. The price reflects:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The material and finish
  • How hard the colour is to match

A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Getting a price from pictures

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.

Bath repair at your home in Shelton Lock

Most bath damage, from chips and cracks to rust spots and holes, can be repaired with the bath left exactly where it is. Nothing is unplumbed, your tiles stay as they are, and the repaired area is colour-matched so it blends in. Our technicians work on roll-top & freestanding, whirlpool & spa baths and pressed steel enamel, and the jobs we see most are chips under the taps and chips along the edge of the bath.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Why repair rather than replace?

Think about the hidden costs of a new bath: removal and disposal, plumbing, a new panel, tiling and decorating. A repair is one job, done in one visit. Prices start from £95. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Shelton Lock

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, pictures and access details and we’ll handle the rest.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Shelton Lock use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

How to care for the repair

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted

Look after the repair the same way as the bath: a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.

Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, to keep water out. Remove it before the repair.

DIY kit or professional repair?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?

Usually, yes, if we can reach the underside to reinforce it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a photo.

Do you repair coloured baths?

Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including pastel and older colours.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Normally, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

What we do, step by step

We work cleanly and quietly. Protection goes down first, then the work takes a few hours, depending on the damage. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.
