Your questions about bath repair in Titchfield Park

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Just keep them out of the work area. We will tell you when the room can be used again.

Which areas do you work in?

Everywhere in the UK, Titchfield Park included. There is no extra charge for travel.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We look at the photos and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

Is a bath repair durable?

Done properly, a repair lasts for years, and it’s guaranteed for a year. Gentle cleaning helps.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.

I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?

Regularly. We strip it out, deal with any rust and repair it again.

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Bath repair in Titchfield Park without replacing anything

A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. You can usually use the bath the following day. If you’re dealing with snagging damage from a refit and a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting, we can help, on cast iron enamel, pressed steel enamel and whirlpool & spa baths alike.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are covered after the visit.

How it works

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, generally the following day.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. We do not charge extra for travel to Titchfield Park. The price comes down to:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The material

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before you book.

Send pictures for a quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures using our quote form or call us. We’ll tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

DIY kit or professional repair?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

What we can’t put right

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • A steel bath rusted through
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: they’re very heavy to remove, especially upstairs, and replacing like for like is not cheap. A repair keeps it in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

What you get with us

  • One visit for most repairs
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Colour mixed on the day to match

What your bath is made of matters

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.

Aftercare tips

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Rinse it down after each bath

There’s nothing special to do after a repair, beyond gentle cleaning. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners and rinse after use.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and it can start to leak underneath.

Do you need bath repair in Titchfield Park?

Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and building work is a common culprit. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.

Keep an eye out for any of the following:

  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • A failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting
  • Impact holes in acrylic
  • Damage beneath the taps

  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
