Bath repair near Segensworth

Repair or replace: which is better?

When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and the bathroom stays as it is. If the whole surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we will tell you. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Bath repair at your home in Segensworth

It pays to repair bath damage while it’s small. Exposed metal on enamelled baths soon rusts, while cracks in acrylic grow each time the bath moves. A repair stops both. We regularly repair pressed steel enamel, cast iron enamel and roll-top & freestanding, and the jobs we see most are snagging damage from a refit and chips along the edge of the bath.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Before and after: a chipped, rust-stained bath around the plughole

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.

Looking after it afterwards

It’s all simple stuff:

  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
  • Ensure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath, avoiding abrasives.

A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.

Is there a guarantee?

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Generally. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.

Can you redo an old repair?

Yes, we do this often. We strip it out, deal with any rust and repair it again.

Do you work in Segensworth?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Segensworth for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

How it works

You don’t need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. It typically takes a few hours, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, usually the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Work for landlords and builders

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, pictures and access details and we’ll arrange it.

What we cannot put right

A repair is not right for every job, including:

  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • A steel bath rusted through

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • The material
  • How many areas need work
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book.

How to get a fixed quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • The material, if you know it
  • Where you are, by postcode

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.
